I cannot even fathom what this family must be going through. Imagine witnessing a precious child being mauled by a wild animal? I shudder to think about it. Thankfully the family acted quickly and the brave child was saved from any additional damage. [br][br]As far as the child's injuries, I am no expert, but I suspect they will heal better than an adult's would. Injuries to a child's bones certainly heal faster, and so does skin because it is still a growing organ.

[p]A young boy, Simon Impey, was attacked and badly cut/ mauled on the face and head by a cougar last week. He was hiking in dense National forest with his family. Thanks to his mother, who beat the cougar off with a water bottle, he's alive. His head wounds are pretty substantial, but fortunately most of his face seems to be spared. See: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/briti...ttack-simon-impey.html Will he have scars and will they show? It looks like most scarring will be under his hair. Maybe a few on the forehead but 5 year olds heal remarkably well. Credit to the family as well, they reacted swiftly, without panic.
