Gabrielle D. - Childhood Scar Unknown Origin

    November 17, 2008

Adopted at 9 months Gabrielle had a scar on her face, but no one knew where it came from

Officials told the family it was a bite and it would heal, but as she continued to grow, the scar became deeper and more pronounced

The children would point and stare and ask her what was wrong with her face

The appearance was “ridge-like” as described by her mother

She became upset and withdrawn with the questions

The family took her to a specialist, Dr. David Vasily, M.D. who told the family it was a thermal burn

Her parents said they just wanted to give their daughter a break

The equipment and Dr. Vasily gave them a massive improvement – 600% improvement easy!

Now 9, Gabrielle says no one teases her about her scar anymore which has been reduced to some discoloration which they hope will dissipate as well
